How to use YouTube Analytics

While understanding YouTube analytics, one should know about Reach, Engagement, or Audience. In this article, we will guide you how to understand YouTube Analytics.

Open YouTube Analytics

  1. You need to open YouTube analytics. For this, open your YouTube account.
  2. Click on the YouTube Studio which will display on the right side of your account.
  3. After clicking on the YouTube studio, you will see many options like Dashboard, Content, Playlists, Analytics, and many more.
  4. You need to click on the Analytics icon and welcome to the YouTube analytics.

Now, in analytics, there are four options like overview, reach, engagement, or audience. We will be telling you all the process one by one.

The Overview Icon

At overview, a graph will open and you can check the views your videos have received till now, the overall watch time or subscribers list. Also, you will find more options where you can see all the views of your videos.

You can scroll down the videos according to your top videos. This will show the number of views the videos got and the average view duration in this period.

Users can also click on the Advanced more option and check the video analytics using the filters like day, week, month, or year.

After clicking on the Advanced more option, you can see more information on the right side of the overview page like real-time, top videos, subscribers of your channel.

You will also be able to see the Video Analytics option for your latest video. By clicking on the video analytics, you can see the number of views, impression, ctr, or average view duration.

The Reach Icon

The Reach icon is available next to your overview icon. At Reach icon, you will see a graph that shows you impressions, impression click-through rate, views, or unique views.

Click on the see more option; you will see traffic source type like from where people found the videos like external, or YouTube search, etc. Also, you will also see impressions and how they led to watch time, impressions, views from impressions, and watch time from impressions. You can also filter the information by selecting the date.

Engagement Icon

Here at the engagement icon, you can see watch time (hours) or average view duration of your videos. You can easily check how well your audience is engaged on the graph. Also, by clicking on the Advanced mode option, one can see old data using filters.

At the engagement icon, you will also see the top videos, top playlists, and top videos by end screen, and top-end screen element types.

Audience Icon

Audience icon is very helpful to build up your channel again making top videos. At the audience tab, there is a returning viewer’s option that will help you to make your channel informative. In this tab, you will see returning viewers, new viewers, or subscribers, etc.

The Audience tab also helps content creators to get when their audience is on YouTube, Age, Gender, locations, watch time from subscribers, top geographies etc.
